Reimagining Democracy

A RESOURCE GUIDE

What would it look like if we practiced reimagining democracy as a spiritual discipline in our daily lives? As an organization that accompanies a wide network of spiritually grounded leaders who can be susceptible to the intensity that exists during political seasons of change and moral upheaval— Faith Matters Network sought to provide an election grounding guide that offers deep-soul care in this time. The “Weekly Wind-down”, as we named it, is a light digital resource to accompany you week by week with each issue focusing on a specific audience or community that is greatly impacted in times of policy change and elections. It features inspiring wisdom, quotes, and antidotes from wise sages, resources from other aligned organizations, as well as reflection questions for contemplation and affirmations to end each week. We view the spiritual practice of reimagining democracy as our way of considering new dimensions of how we can co-create a democracy that works for us all. We believe it is through democratic action that we can transform the stresses of competition and disparity to interdependence and equity. Democracy can indeed be a sacred pathway to our collective flourishing.

A CONVERSATION SERIES

In conjunction to releasing the weekly resource guide, we felt inspired to offer a fall series on the topic, Reimagining Democracy. We recognized that in the struggle for a more democratic society, there is a need for connection— across various communities that are actively engaged in the work of healing justice. This 4-part conversation series will feature movement makers, healers, and social justice activists who will share from their own wisdom as we seek to collectively heal and rebuild. With much work ahead in this election season and beyond, we hope you’ll join us on the journey to liberation. You can register for this FREE series via Zoom here. We look forward to sharing with you all this season as we practice for the world we want to see come to fruition.
