As we navigate a season of transition and search for a new Executive Director to lead the way forward for our organization, we are honored to have our board member & treasurer, Dr. Patricia Hunter, step in to offer her wisdom and guidance as Interim Executive Director. Interim Executive Director

The Reverend Dr. Patricia L. Hunter is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, professional and has a passion for financial wellness and helping others achieve their goals by getting their financial houses in order. She is the founder and CEO of Hunter, McCoy & Associates, where she offers financial wellness coaching and workshops. Dr. Hunter is an ordained womanist Baptist preacher and has served in pastoral leadership at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle and Seattle First Baptist Church. She is a board member at Hilltop House— an affordable senior housing facility in Seattle. She is also Board Treasurer for Resounding Love Center for the Arts in Seattle. Resounding Loves believes in the power of love and music to bring healing to oneself and our communities. Dr. Hunter who is affectionately known as Dr. P. at FMN has been associated with Faith Matters Network since 2020, when she served for three months as mentor and elder to the staff while the founding Executive Director, Rev. Jennifer Bailey, was on maternity leave. In 2021 Dr. P. became the inaugural Board Treasurer of Faith Matters Network. Dr. Hunter is past co-chair of the Seattle Community Police Commission and a retired denominational executive with the American Baptist Churches, USA where she served for 33 years as Director of Financial Wellness Programs and Director of Women in Ministry. She received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO, under the leadership of Dr. Emilie M. Townes. Dr. Hunter received her Master of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, NY and she is a graduate of Seattle University’s Albers School of Business. For nine years, Dr. Hunter was a Faith & Values columnist for the Seattle Times. Encouraging women and centering Black women’s experiences are central to Dr. Hunter’s way of being in the world. Dr. Hunter believes that for generations Black women have cared for others more than ourselves. Now, it is time for us to honor our legacies, celebrate our achievements, and get some rest. Dr. Hunter enjoys watching the Seattle Mariners, the Seattle Kraken, gardening, eating, playing percussion, and singing. She is married to Dr. Renee McCoy, has two energetic lab mix puppies, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
