Movement Chaplaincy Mental Health Aid Training

As we round out summer hours at Faith Matters Network and get back into a rhythm for fall, Movement Chaplaincy is excited to drop a new offering in October– Mental Health Aid Training. This 5-week certification course is through the highly recognized National Council for Mental Wellbeing– a nonprofit entity that supports organizations assisting in mental health and substance abuse recovery throughout the country. Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance challenges in ages 18 and older, and how to provide initial help and be able to guide someone towards appropriate clinical care if necessary. Faith Matters Network is committed to offering our network opportunities for continued education and this particular training can help elevate your vocational offerings, depending what your areas of interest are in the field of mental health.

Our 5-week training will begin October 11 and last through November 8– covering a multitude of topics such as anxiety, depression, psychosis, addictions, and more. We have partnered with counselor and lead facilitator, Margaret L. Conley (MSW, MDiv, CCISM) from MLC Consulting– who will be guiding this training via live virtual sessions on Zoom. This is a first come, first serve opportunity, as we will be accepting a maximum of 30 folks to enroll in this fall cohort! Students must attend all live sessions and complete the full coursework in order to receive a certificate at the end of the training– certifying them to perform mental health first aid for someone in distress.

The certification is affiliated with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and the cost upon registering is a $50 fee. Take a look at our course breakdown below, and don’t delay in registering here if you’re interested in taking advantage of this new opportunity!
